Grades 6-12 |
The Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies provides a challenging program for students in grades 6 through 12. CES seeks students interested in striving for excellence within a humanistic school environment offering close, personal teacher-student relationships. All students are tested and then scheduled into multi-grade level English and Mathematics classes according to skill level rather than on a grade level basis. Due to the nature of the program, which operates on a secondary school format throughout, mature responsive students who are achieving at or above grade level benefit most from their experience at the Center for Enriched Studies.
Opportunities
The curriculum includes a comprehensive offering of courses which develops academic abilities, artistic talents, and athletic skills. Opportunities are available for participation in intramural and inter-scholastic sports. The Senior High program includes a full schedule of college preparatory classes (AP's). Our educational program is designed with the expectation that those who come here will be willing to work hard to improve themselves as there is no provision for "in depth" remediation at any grade level. Experience has shown that students should consider attending LACES only if they and their parents are willing to make the necessary commitments to our education and enrichment programs.
