BACKGROUND
The Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and was founded in September 1979 as a voluntary integration program. LACES enrolls students in grades six through twelve from throughout the city.
LACES provides a challenging curriculum in a humanistic school environment offering close and personal involvement between teachers, students and parents. Courses are offered to develop academic abilities, artistic talents and athletic skills. Each student takes seven classes instead of the traditional six, allowing for more flexibility and options in selecting courses. The extra period and after-school classes provide additional academic and enrichment classes that better prepare our students for college.
