Library Practice/T.A.’s
 Requirements

  1. Must have good attendance
  2. No "U"’s on report card.
  3. Good Attitude
  4. Willing to work.
  5. Considerate of others.
  6. Show initiative.
  7. Be responsible
  8. Be on time.
  9. Shows self-control
T.A. duties
  1. Shelve books.
  2. Read assigned shelves
  3. Return materials left on tables.
  4. Push in chairs.
  5. Check in books.
  6. Check out books.
  7. Make sure student signs in on clipboard.
  8. Clock student out when they leave.
  9. Look up summons and take them to classrooms
  10. Perform other duties requested by Librarian.
  1. Stamp processed books
  2. Alphabetize catalog cards.
  3. Process magazines
  4. Miscellaneous

Library Practice Student Duties:
  1. Same duties as a T.A.
  2. Do written work out of the workbook.
  1. Eight assignments completed before the ten-week progress report.
  2. Eight assignments completed before the twenty-week progress report.

A final will be given at the end of the semester.

Library Internet Use
Policy

  1. Student must have form signed by parent or guardian.
  2. An Internet Use Card will be issued after form has been completely filled out.
  3. Application will be kept on file. Internet Use Card must be renewed annually.
  4. There is no e-mail.
  5. There is no chatting.
  6. No log-in of any kind.
  7. Use of the internet is for research purposes only.
  8. No games or decoding of games.
Violation of Policy
  1. Violation of Policy - Card will be taken away for a month.
  2. Second violation:
    1. Parent will be notified of violation
    2. Internet use privilege suspended indefinitely.
Library Rules
 Etiquette

Silence is Golden!
  1. Must have a signed pass by your teacher to enter the library.
  2. Sign in on the clipboard
  3. No food or drinks in the library.
  4. Be considerate of others.
  5. No loud talking.
  6. No socializing
  7. No running around
  8. No in and out privileges
  9. Please return materials to their proper places.
  10. Clean up area around you before leaving the library.
Circulation
  1. You must have an ID Card to check out books
  2. Print your full name and homeroom on the book pocket card.
  3. You may check out:
    1. two books
    2. one magazine
  4. Books circulate for two weeks.
  5. Magazines circulate for one week.
  6. You may not check out a book if your name is on the Overdue List.
Overdue Books
  1. A fine of 10¢ per day. No charge for illness days, weekends, or holidays.
  2. Lost books - See Librarian for cost of lost item(s).
  3. Take care of overdue books as soon as possible.
  4. You parent(s) will be notified at home and work if needed.
  5. Your name will be submitted and put on the Stop Clearance List.
  6. Library Privileges will be suspended indefinitely until record is cleared.
Library Computers Computers are to be used for the purpose of research only.

Seventeen computers are housed in the library :

    3. 128.0 MB RAM
    Five Tangent Computers-
    1. Windows XP
    2. Pentium® 4CPU 1.80GHz
    3. 1.82 GHz
    4. 120 MB of RAM
    Five IBM Computers-
    1. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)
    2. Windows NT/Windows 98
    3. Pentium II Processor
    4. 63.0 MB RAM
    One Dell Optiplex-
    1. Windows 2000
    2. 130,616 KB RAM
    One IBM Net Vista
    1. Windows 98
    2. 127.0 MB of RAM

          One printer housed in the library: 
              HP Laserjet 4200N

    Shared T1 Line & schoolwide file and print sharing.

Computers may be used for word processing.
  1. You may not save on the hard drive.
  2. You may save on your disk. It will be scanned for viruses.
  3. You may bring and use your own flash drive.
It costs 10¢ per page to print after prior approval by Librarian.
