ATTENDANCE
Attendance and academic achievement are directly linked; as a result, we expect all students to attend school on a regular basis.
Readmits
When returning to school from an absence, a student must bring a note to the attendance office before school written in ink including the following information:
  •student's full name
  •parent's or guardian's signature
  •homeroom number
  •date and days of absence
  •reason for absence
•parent's or guardian's daytime phone number
A yellow readmit slip will then be issued to the student who can now attend classes. This slip must be shown to all teachers at the beginning of the period to regain entrance into the class.
Readmit Without a Note
•A student without a note will report to the attendance office. The attendance office will refer the student to the appropriate counselor. The counselor will call home to verify the absence with the parent or guardian.
•Students who chronically return to school without a note verifying an absence will be assigned detention and/or school service.
•Any absence not verified within three days will automatically become a truancy.
Duplicate Readmit Slips
•A student who loses a yellow readmit slip must obtain a duplicate blue slip from the attendance office.
•If a teacher misplaces the slip, the teacher will write a note so that the student can get a new duplicate without penalty.
•If the student loses the duplicate, a new duplicate will be issued but the student will serve detention and/or school service.
Daily Absence Report
•The attendance office prepares daily absence reports and all teachers will cross check the list as they take attendance each period. Students who miss class and are not on the absence list will be reported to the attendance office.

•before leaving campus the student will return to the attendance office to pick up the blue "Permit for Release of Child During School Hours".
Tardiness
Students are expected to be in their seat on time and prepared to begin work.
•Three tardies will result in an unsatisfactory mark in work habits on the student's next report card.
•The administrative and counseling staff will conduct periodic tardy sweeps.
•School service and/or detention will be required to repeated tardies.
The cooperation grade will be lowered for continued tardies to a class.
